A Compound bow has limbs that are stiffer than a normal long bow or a recurve bow. Compound bows use pulleys for drawing the string back. The limbs of the arm do not bend and are not flexible like the recurve or the long bow. The compound bow has a lesser chance of being affected by changes in humidity and temperature.
