With an IBO rating of 340 FPS it is no doubt among the fastest bows of 2011 and it is apparent from the very first arrow you shoot with it. As with most other Mathews compound bows, it shoots very well and very accurate as well. There is a little forgiveness and this is in part thanks to the parallel limbs and grid lock riser.

Both of these actually make the bow look, and feel much like any other mathews bows; if you have used them before and like them then this will be right up your street. On the other hand if you have never used one before then all is not lost - this will be a great bow to use to get familiar with the range.

The cam is a single cam system that is used in many others, but with some improvements. Its called the Z7 SoloCam and it is even smoother than the 2010 model. The specs speak for itself really and although this is not a winner of the best compound bow (2011) is will definately put a smile on your face.

When power meets the precision the mathews monster demonstrates however it does come at a price, and the bow is clearly targetted towards the top end of the scale.

The draw cycle is a bit harsher than on other bows but this is purely because of the cam and speed of the bow - it takes a few shots to get used too and may feel slightly odd at first. The real performance comes once you get past this and it is an performs amazingly well. Mathews built their reputation making quality bows and this is yet another example of this.

This bow would suit anyone with a large budget or anyone that is interested in getting the most out of their compound bow and demands ultimate speed at all times. Beginners might be put off by the high price although if you have an endless budget it may be tempting to pick up a mathews monster and its hard to argue with that.
