If you are an owner of a Diamond bow already then then Dead Eye bow will not be too unfamiliar with you. In appearance, at least, it looks to be based on the Diamond Destroyer bow. If you have not used one before, then the Destroyer is actually a fantastic bow so this should set the standard for this one too.

The Dead Eye bow also comes with the FLX Guard technology that bowtech use in their other recent products. This is basically a system for containing the cable which flexes under stress. This means that is absorbs much of the torque, where as other bows are likely to rely on the riser for this. As a result, the bow is a lot smoother and it is also more forgiving so is perfect for helping you to progress. Changing the configuation is simple as well and doesnt require dismantling or a visit to your local store.

The cam is the new Throttle cam - this is quite interesting as in the high-end Bowtech bows, you will usually find the Overdrive binary cam. The new cam moves the axle so it at the tip of the limb. The new patented cam is a lot faster than most others while also keeping the draw smooth. In fact, its not the fastest available; at 343FPS is is still in the top few though.

The Dead Eye has taken existing and proven technology that Bowtech have used in other Diamond bows and made small changes (such as the cam, as mentioned) to make it even better. The Diamond Dead eye is a superb high-end compound bow that is going to be one of the most popular for 2011. If you are after a smooth and efficient bow that is accurate and super fast then you are going to be hard pushed to find one that betters what is on offer here.
