With an IBO rating of 340 FPS it is no doubt among the fastest bows of 2011 and it is apparent from the very first arrow you shoot with it. As with most other Mathews compound bows, it shoots very well and very accurate as well. There is a little forgiveness and this is in part thanks to the parallel limbs and grid lock riser.

Both of these actually make the bow look, and feel much like any other mathews bows; if you have used them before and like them then this will be right up your street. On the other hand if you have never used one before then all is not lost - this will be a great bow to use to get familiar with the range.

The cam is a single cam system that is used in many others, but with some improvements. Its called the Z7 SoloCam and it is even smoother than the 2010 model. The specs speak for itself really and although this is not a winner of the best compound bow (2011) is will definately put a smile on your face.

The Parker Ambusher measures just 28" so it is quite a small bow when put next to some of the others that were released around the same time. This makes it easy to carry and more importantly will make it more practical to get around.

The riser comes off very short limbs and itself is only 19". However, even in its slight size, it has an advanced reflex that means it your shots come off better every time. This might sound like jargon and if you are new then you simply have to try the bow to understand its true strength.

This compound bow has a single cam system that is fast enough to hold up to similar bows - it is rated at 320 FPS. This cam is adjustable so once again you can make easy adjustments as you need them - great for any situation.

The bow is overall once that is going to give you performance. The impressive speed that you get from such a compact bow is impressive but might suit someone who has a least some experience. With that said, the price is more than reasonable and can pay almost double this price for a bow of similar specs so if it is within your budget then go ahead - you wont be disappointed.

The bow has many patents to its name and it is far from easy to manufacture; part of the problem was that Hoyt put the bow through a complex trial and error program which was designed to get all aspects of it feeling right and shooting well, in particular to make sure it flexes and the center of gravity is right.

Even when the trial and error was completed, the bow was still put to the test and Hoyt ensured that is was dy fired over 3000 times which resulted in noted problems or sign of damage. When firing the bow, it's design - which is somewhat different to most others compounds - means there isn't any forward jump when you are shooting it. You would feel comfortable shooting this without a wrist strap.

Its axle-to-axle is longer that some newer bows, at 35 inches, which is good for anyone looking for something a bit longer. Many of the 2011 bows look to be smaller than this.

Packed full of features, this bow can is also really smooth. the high-enery fuel cam on the bow isnt the fastest, though it is capable of 318FPS. Hoyt have used a carbon fiber riser in this bow and this has helped to keep its weight under 4lbs. Anyone that is concerned over the strength of the bow need not worry; it is rumoured that in testing the riser was run over by a truck and was still able to fire dead straight.

One major drawback to the Hoyt Carbon Matrix is the price tag.... It is available for a whopping $1600 at retail. It is worth bearning in mind that this is a highly sought after compound bow that is made in limited edition, so this goes some way to justify the price tag. It is also very smooth, efficient, lightweight and quick. There are quicker bows on the market but this does offer a complete "top-of-the-range" bow. If you have money to burn, you could do a lot worse, and of course if you are able to get one from the above listings you can probably knock a few hundred dollars off that price too.

If you are an owner of a Diamond bow already then then Dead Eye bow will not be too unfamiliar with you. In appearance, at least, it looks to be based on the Diamond Destroyer bow. If you have not used one before, then the Destroyer is actually a fantastic bow so this should set the standard for this one too.

The Dead Eye bow also comes with the FLX Guard technology that bowtech use in their other recent products. This is basically a system for containing the cable which flexes under stress. This means that is absorbs much of the torque, where as other bows are likely to rely on the riser for this. As a result, the bow is a lot smoother and it is also more forgiving so is perfect for helping you to progress. Changing the configuation is simple as well and doesnt require dismantling or a visit to your local store.

The cam is the new Throttle cam - this is quite interesting as in the high-end Bowtech bows, you will usually find the Overdrive binary cam. The new cam moves the axle so it at the tip of the limb. The new patented cam is a lot faster than most others while also keeping the draw smooth. In fact, its not the fastest available; at 343FPS is is still in the top few though.

The Dead Eye has taken existing and proven technology that Bowtech have used in other Diamond bows and made small changes (such as the cam, as mentioned) to make it even better. The Diamond Dead eye is a superb high-end compound bow that is going to be one of the most popular for 2011. If you are after a smooth and efficient bow that is accurate and super fast then you are going to be hard pushed to find one that betters what is on offer here.

Appearance-wise, there isnt much difference between the pro and DS versions as it is the underlying technology that has been improved.

It is a quad limb compound bow which Darton introduced to all of its high end bows in 2010. This helps to give the bow a much better all round performance and this is evident as soon as you pick the bow up. This years model also has a new cable guard which reduces the torque. As a result of this, it means the bow is more accurate.

The grip on this bow has also been developed and Darton have recognised that many people prefer slim grips. The side plates are smaller and have interchangeable with larger ones if you prefer them. This is a nice touch as it means you are not stuck with what they want you to use.

The Darton 3800 uses a DualSync cam system that they have used since 2009 on their bows and have kept because it was so successful. It has since been fine tuned for 2011 and this cam helps to make the bow quieter, smoother and a lot faster. The let off on this bow is 80% and it weighs just over 4lbs. This is such a good bow that some people have commented that when they start using it, they can actually reduce the bow weight and still be able to shoot their arrows faster. It's official speed rating is 345-350FPS so this should give you some idea of just how fast it is.

The Darton DS-3800 can be purchased in Realtree APG and Black and it has draw weights of 40, 50, 60 and 70lbs. The draw length is adjustable and can be changed from 25-31 inches. Changing this is easy as it uses modules and it can be changed in 1/2 inch increments as required.

The bow weighs in at just 3.9lbs but this isn't where you will find it to be most impressive. What is striking from the get-go is the just how blazingly fast this bow is. It's specs suggest that it is capable of up to 343FPS which is faster than most on the market but when you actually shoot it, the initial reaction feels like it is faster than that.

Fans of BowTech bows, in particular those that used the center pivot design like the General, will be pleased to know that the Invasion uses a sweeping riser. This in effect improves the original design which was popular as it was near silent and very smooth, but did suffer from speed problems. The new design helps it to reach its IBO speed so should please even more fans.

A new feature of this bow is the CPX technology which acts as a platform for improved accuracy. The deflexed riser eliminates torque and twist meaning you get a much more accurate shot.

The cams that this bow uses are the same as the Bowtech Destroyer, which was released in 2010 and uses the Overdrive Binary Cam system. It also uses HardCore limbs which are also well known and offer it a much more sturdy feel. Throw into the mix the FLX Guard and cable rod string stop and you have a bow that is going to be one of the most sought after in 2011.

Wether its a compound hunting bow or a 3d range this bow will not be out of place on either. It shoots quickly and quietly and although it might not be the fastest bow around it still has a ping to it.  The bow still performs well even at lower draw rates so would be ideal to anyone not used too or out or practice from drawing a bow.

The Martin Saber is also very quiet and is built with a full range of vibration dampeners mainly in the riser, grip, string and of course the arrow shelf plate.

This bow would be ideal to anyone who is on a strict budget but doesnt want to compomise on quality.
